The West Sussex County Times is a weekly newspaper (published Fridays) covering the whole of the Horsham district.

horsham.co.uk is a portal site for the Horsham area.

Horsham & Southwater Forum is an online community forum for local residents & businesses.  Current forum topics include: non-smoking pubs, hose pipe ban, Horsham house prices. 
 

Development

The West Sussex Design Commission was set up by West Sussex County Council as an independent body.  It responds to concerns about the expected type and volume of future building, and the community's reaction to this.  In addition it has a Wider Reference Network (WRN) which includes a great number of people who can offer help, advice and expertise.

Saxon Weald Homes, the main local housing association, owns and manages 4500 homes in the Horsham district.

The Planning Portal offers a wide range of services and guidance on the planning system.
 

History

Horsham Museum exhibits a wide ranging selection of local history & rural crafts and features a regular programme of changing exhibitions.

West Sussex Past Pictures is the official database of heritage photographs, prints, drawings and paintings provided by local museums and the County Library Service.

Horsham Railways past & present - the history of the railways around Horsham, from openings to closures.

Conservation

The English Historic Towns Forum explores the issues impacting on historic towns, offering support and guidance on conservation area management, traffic and visitor management, urban regeneration and design, and other planning issues.

The Open Spaces Society protects common land and public rights of way.
 

Action

The Civic Trust has campaigned and worked in regeneration and urban development since 1957. It is the umbrella body for 700 Civic Societies across the country which it represents on its portal site

iCAN is the BBC's campaigning website, which allows you to register your issues on the site and get involved with local projects.
 

Amenity & Business

Horsham in Bloom is improving the town by means of floral impact, landscaping, conservation and tackling litter & graffiti, involving as wide a cross-section of the community as possible and contributing to commercial success

The purpose of the Friends of Horsham Park is to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Park, and to influence and promote opportunities for the public to understand and enjoy the Park.

The Horsham Society is a member of the Federation of Sussex Amenity Societies.

Arts & Leisure

The Blue Flash Music Trust aims to promote, improve, develop, and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by presentation of public concerts, workshops etc.

The Horsham & District Horticultural Society was founded in 1945 to promote an interest in horticulture and to encourage gardening in Horsham and the surrounding district.

Horshampub.co.uk recommends country pubs near Horsham that you can cycle or mountain bike to.  The Pub Index has a complete listing and you can also search this website to find a pub or a location.
 

Villages

Copsale Hall Web provides information on the area around Sedgwick, including Nuthurst, Maplehurst, Copsale, Monks Gate & Mannings Heath.

Sedgwick Park - not exactly a village web but very interesting with a photo gallery and history of the house.

Steyning South Downs includes the Towns and Villages of, Steyning, Upper Beeding, Bramber, Small Dole, Edburton, Ashurst and Wiston.
